Well, a little bit. A phrase or word which is entered after a pound (#) sign is considered a hashtag and our tool gleans all the tweets containing that hashtag. These hashtags are inserted in the tweets by the users across Twitter to index the tweet to a particular subject or topic.
A keyword is any phrase or word without a pound (#) sign before it. In the similar fashion to hashtags, our tool searches for the exact keyword across Twitter and throws back the tweets containing that keyword.
